Our specialised women’s health Physiotherapist can help women of all ages with:
- Treatment for Pelvic Floor problems such as stress urinary incontinence, urge urinary incontinence, overactive bladder, and pain and dysfunction of the Pelvic Floor muscles.
- Post natal checks for Pelvic Floor Muscle problems and Rectus Abdominus Diastases (separation of the tummy muscles). This can be done at 6-8 weeks after having a baby and is still useful later on. It’s really important to have this check particularly if you are intending to return to sports.
- Rehabilitation for conditions such as pelvic organ prolapse or following uro-gynae surgery/repair.
Your Physiotherapist will ask you detailed questions to identify the problem and her assessment will include an internal examination of your pelvic floor muscles. Treatments may include specialist advice, trigger point release of tight or painful muscles, the use of devices to help educate or stimulate weak muscles and an individualised pelvic floor muscle strengthening programme.
